When measuring pump installation and pipeline laying, we should prevent pipeline vibration and discharge fluid. Because of inertia resistance, it will produce pulse impact force on pipeline at the beginning of pump operation. This is a special phenomenon of the reciprocating pump, which is caused by the sudden acceleration of the liquid in the pipe.


In order to prevent this phenomenon, we require the outlet inertia resistance (Pid) <1.0kgf/cm2. When Pid reaches 1.0kgf/cm2, the pipeline will vibrate, which will cause adverse effects on the pump and its peripherals. The discharge end fluid, due to the inertia resistance, will produce pulsating impact force on the pipeline when the pump starts to run. Two, prevent excessive supply

Excessive supply is due to the flow inertia of the liquid in the pipeline, which affects the normal work of the check valve and makes the check valve invalid, which leads to the excessive and unstable flow of the pump. It is possible to produce this phenomenon when the negative pressure of the suction end is insufficient or the pipeline is too long. Therefore, we require the pressure difference of the pump > inertia resistance Pi (the larger in the inlet or outlet).

Terms of settlement:

1. installation of pulse dampers;

2. install the back pressure valve;

3. as far as possible to shorten the length of the import and export pipeline.


Three, prevent the occurrence of cavitation

If the gas cavitation allowance (NPSHa) is insufficient, the pump may be damaged by disconnection or cavitation erosion. Therefore, we require the cavitation allowance of the device, NPSHa > essential cavitation allowance (NPSHr), NPSHa=Pa-Pv + Phs-Pis* (* or Pfs).
